WESTON - Johnnie Riley fired in 32 points Friday to help Lewis County capture the Class AAA, Region II, Section 2 title with a 70-52 victory over Elkins.
"Our kids fought hard, they just physically handled us in the paint," Tigers coach John Lawson said. "Johnnie Riley really gave us problems. We fought and battled, but he just dominated inside. It seemed like every time we had a chance to dig and cut into the lead, we couldn't capitalize on the opportunity. It seemed like every time there was a play, it went their way."
Tyler Shreve and Colby Gainer paced the Tigers offense with 17 points each. Senior Logan Phillips was held to six points.

"I hope this serves as a wake-up call for my guys," Lambert said. "We've got to get ready for the sectional championship. We can't play like we did tonight and expect to win. Hopefully this will help them get their heads right and ready to play."
