Cindee Campbell and Eric Titchnell are the Barbour County Chamber of Commerce Members of the Month for March.
Campbell is the vice president for client services and agency operations at Allegheny Insurance in Elkins. Titchnell is the general manager of Southern States Philippi
Campbell is a native of Tucker County and has worked for Allegheny Insurance for more than 20 years. She currently services medical and health care risks, large transportation risks, and alternative risk transfer accounts.
She is the current president of the Elkins-Randolph County Chamber of Commerce, and is a member of the Davis House Committee of the Davis Health System Foundation. She has been a member of the Travelers Agent Advisory Board for West Virginia and was, for three years, State Auto National Representative for the Eastern Regional Agents Advisory Council.
As a three-time breast cancer survivor, Campbell is very active in Relay for Life and is a Reach for Recovery volunteer. She has spent the majority of her life helping other
people, she says.
"It's a cause that is near and dear to my heart," Campbell said. She is helping the Davis Health System Foundation build a respite home for patients undergoing cancer treatments. She and her family are members of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
Titchnell is a Clarksburg native and graduate of Washington Irving High School. He began his career in 1995 at Southern States Cooperative in Philippi, where he was recently
appointed general manager.
He is a member of the West Virginia Cattleman's Association. Southern States was organized in 1941 in the Thomas Wolfe Building at the end of North High Street in Philippi and operated in this location until 1948 when it purchased the Haney Building at the corner of Woods and Depot Street 100 yards away.
"Although services offered have come and gone, and the product mix sold has changed, Southern States Philippi continues to serve Barbour and surrounding counties with farm and home needs, making it one of the longest-lasting retail businesses in Philippi," Titchnell said.
