The Barbour County Chamber of Commerce's annual Career Day at Philip Barbour High School will be March 27.
Career Day is a joint project of the Chamber and the school's Future Business Leaders of America Club.
Chamber members sponsor Philip Barbour students and faculty at a luncheon starting at 11:30 a.m. in Mrs. Shannon's cooking classroom, where students will prepare and serve a hot meal. Students and faculty members are assigned to their business sponsors according to their career interests.
This year's speaker is a very special guest from the West Virginia Department of Education. Dr. Sherri Nash, director of Career & Technical Education, will address the group about preparing high school graduates for the future labor market. Nash will be available to answer questions from the audience before meeting with Philip Barbour's student body during an afternoon presentation in the school auditorium.
Chamber members are directed to the parking area at the Barbour County Vocational School, where they are to sign in, and to not go to the main entrance of the Philip Barbour
Reservations must be made with the Chamber office and checks made out to the Future Business Leaders of America Club.
