ELKINS - The Elkins-Randolph County Chamber of Commerce will celebrate fiesta-style Wednesday with its annual awards banquet.
The event, slated for 5:30 p.m. at Orchard Hall in Elkins, is the high point of the Chamber's program calendar, with the largest gathering of business leaders from Randolph and surrounding counties, and promises to be a sizzling night of fun.
"There is a lot of excitement surrounding this event and I am really looking forward to it," Chamber Executive Director Jess Arbogast said.
"The volunteer committee and chamber staff have put a lot of time and effort into planning this special evening."
Arbogast said more than 200 people have registered for the event.
"It's going to be a sizzling celebration of our community and county," she said. "We've made some changes to this year's event. We're expanding our celebration to include more of the great things businesses and individuals are doing by adding new award categories, and recognizing the top three finalists in each of the respective categories. We're excited to honor members of our community for their outstanding service and dedication to the Chamber, Elkins and Randolph County."
The evening will commence at 5:30 p.m. with the cocktail hour sponsored by Allegheny Insurance, Armstrong Wood Products and FirstEnergy. During this time members and guests will enjoy margaritas, a salsa bar and music while networking with fellow business leaders.
At 6:30 p.m., members and guests will enjoy a festive feast prior to the keynote address which will begin at 7 p.m.
