HUTTONSVILLE - Tygarts Valley coach Hannah Sundberg wasn't sure which one of her teams would show up for Thursday's Class A, Region II, Section 2 title game against Tucker County.
"I didn't know what to expect after (Wednesday's games)," Sundberg said. "I didn't know if it would be the team that won (6-0) or the one that lost (2-1)."
Fortunately for Sundberg, the Bulldogs returned to their winning ways, erupting for 20 hits en route to a 10-6 victory over the Mountain Lions to capture the sectional title for the second straight year.

"The girls definitely brought their 'A' game," Sundberg said. "I'm not sure what happened to us in Wednesday's second game, but today they came out ready to play."
Tygarts Valley made a statement early in the third and deciding game against the Mountain Lions, plating nine runs over the first two innings in building a 9-3 advantage.
The Bulldogs tacked on a run in the sixth, while the Mountain Lions tallied three in the seventh to finish the scoring.
Charity Lower went all seven innings to earn the win, scattering six runs on 12 hits, while fanning three and walking three.
