ELKINS - Randolph County's only farmers market has moved to a new location for the growing season.
The Elkins Farmers Market has moved from its previous location, at the Elkins Depot Town Square, to the parking lot of First Baptist Church on Randolph Avenue in Elkins.
"It's a way for us to get out and get more exposure," Elkins Farmers Market Treasurer Samantha Robinson told The Inter-Mountain. "This allows us to make the community more aware of where we are and what we have to offer."

Local residents flock to the Elkins Farmers Market at its new location in the First Baptist Church parking lot on Randolph Avenue. Dr. Clifton and Carole Hyre scoop up some homemade bread baked by Connie Kemrite.
"We weren't as visible before," said Maureen Farrell, president of Elkins Farmers Market. "There were people in town who didn't know we have a farmers market. Hopefully this new location will not only change that, but will give us access to a larger volume of clients than before."
Farmers like Mike Kwasniewski seem to agree the move is an improvement.
"I get a good portion of my income from the market," he said. "Previously, we had a limited number of clients and sales plateaued. This move gives us more visibility, easier access loading and unloading. It will be great to bring in new folks off of Randolph Avenue."
Co-President Kelly Hatton said the farmers market provides customers with an option to get fresh local, organic produce.
"It allows you to be able to talk to the farmer who grew it, instead of getting it from an unknown source in the grocery store," she said.
Elkins Farmers Market will be open from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. every Saturday until the end of October, with the exceptions of the weekend of July 4 and the Mountain State Forest Festival.
The market includes homegrown products, home-baked goods, wild edibles and juried craft items. All of the vendors' products are grown, raised or created within 30 miles of Elkins or within Randolph County.
There is also an indoor Beverly location inside the International Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF) building and an outdoor Beverly location across the street. According to the Elkins Farmers Market website, the hours for the Beverly locations are Fridays10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturdays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sundays 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Mondays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Beverly locations offer extended hours during summer and fall as well as for events and tours.
