Geneva West, 75, a resident of Elkins, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2014, in Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
She was born July 3, 1938, at Mill Creek, a daughter of the late Bosworth and Bertha Herron Currence.
On April 24, 1971, she was married to William Robert West, who preceded her in death Nov. 29, 2007.
She is survived by six sons, Dale Vance and wife, Angie, of Beverly, Mark Vance of Ellamore, William R. West II of Beverly, Adam West and wife, Tasha, of Ellamore, Jimmy Vance and wife, Diane, of Conyers, Ga., and Roger Vance of Elkins; three daughters, Debbie Morgan and husband, David, of Elkins, Dorothy Spessert of Elkins and Ramona Naylor and husband, David, of Parkersburg; three brothers, Charles Currence of Mill Creek, Billy Currence of Cassity and Richard Currence of Buckhannon; 17 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were four sisters, Ruth Burr, Margaret Harold, Luveena Currence and Goldie Carver; and four brothers, Olsen, Freeman, Oley and Frank Currence.
Geneva was a homemaker.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Mountain State Memorial Gardens near Gilman. Chaplain Lewis Bartlett will officiate, and interment will follow.
