ELKINS - Davis & Elkins College alumnus Bradley Bennett has been appointed admission counselor at his alma mater.
In this position, Bennett represents Davis & Elkins at college fairs and high schools throughout Virginia to seek out potential students. He also meets with high school guidance counselors to make them aware of the benefits of a D&E education.
"I feel honored to have been chosen for this position," Bennett says. "I'm really excited to have a new territory and find good students for D&E."
Bennett is currently pursuing a master's degree in legal studies at West Virginia University. He is a 2014 graduate of D&E with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science. During his college career, Bennett worked as an intern in the Office of Admission, residential coordinator for Upward Bound and president of the D&E chapter of Student Veterans of America.
From 2008 to 2014, Bennett served as a military police officer with the United States Army Reserve 363 Military Police Company. From 2010 to 2011, he served in Iraq as a personal security officer for Gen. Lloyd Austin III, commander of U.S. forces during Operation New Dawn. For his work in Iraq, Bennett received a Joint Service Achievement Medal for Excellence.
A native of West Virginia, Bennett is a 2009 graduate of Harman High School.
