Tucker holds off EH

BAKER – Tyler Snyder had 16 points to lead Class A, No. 3 Tucker County past East Hardy 54-52 Tuesday in Potomac Valley Conference action.

Forward Ian Nichols added 13 points, while Austin Zirk chipped in with nine points for the Mountain Lions (12-1), who led 27-19 at halftime and 39-36 after three quarters of play.

Tyler Mongold had 18 points and Korey Foltz contributed 13 points for the Cougars (7-8).

East Hardy will travel to Cameron at 7:30 p.m. Friday in West Virginia Hometown Invitational Tournament play.

Tucker County will host Pocahontas County at 7:30 p.m. Thursday for a PVC contest.

Pendleton 57, Harman 48

HARMAN – Evan Arrington had 18 points to lead Pendleton County past Harman 57-48 Tuesday in Potomac Valley Conference action.

Logan Raines followed with 13 points, while Cody Lambert chipped in with 10 points for the Wildcats (5-7).

Alex Armentrout had a game-high 26 points and Kaleb Shiflett followed with 12 points for the Panthers (3-11), who led 32-18 at halftime and 42-37 after three quarters of play.

Harman will face Hundred at 7:30 p.m. Friday in WVHIT action.

Pendleton County will host Petersburg at 7:30 p.m. today.

Pendleton 69, Harman 22

FRANKLIN – Danielle Gray had 12 points an pulled down seven rebounds to lead Pendleton County past Harman 69-22 Tuesday in Potomac Valley Conference action.

Hillary Ord followed with 11 points and grabbed nine rebounds, while Alexis Turner had 10 points for the Lady Wildcats (8-5, 5-2 PVC), who led 41-5 at halftime and 55-13 after three quarters of play.

Kaylee Edwards had eight assists for Pendleton County.

Kenna Bennett had eight points and Layla Teter had seven points for the Lady Panthers.

Harman will host Notre Dame at 7:30 p.m. Monday.

Pendleton County will travel to Tucker County at 7:30 p.m. Friday for a PVC contest.

Middle School basketball

TV varsity girls beat EMS

MILL?CREEK – The Tygarts Valley varsity team defeated Elkins Tuesday night in girls middle school play.

The Bulldogs captured a 19-17 win in the varsity game as Leah Arbogast scored seven points. Haley Collett had 10 points, six steals and four rebounds for the Hornets.

EMS took the junior varsity game 24-10 as Kiley Calain had five points and three steals, and Kaci Zopp and Hali Newlon four points each.

Morgan Lanham and Korie Kane each had three points for TV.

BMS bests Philippi

BELINGTON?- The Belington Middle School girls varsity team defeated county rival Philippi 39-28 on Tuesday night.

Jessica Harris fired in 15 points, Maddi Carpenter added eight and Carmen Cline six for the Hawks, who led 20-10 at intermission.

Philippi was led by Shayna Rexrode with 11 markers.

EMS boys fall to Taylor

GRAFTON – The Elkins Middle School boys basketball team dropped a pair of games with Taylor County on Monday night.

The Hornets (10-6) lost the varsity contest, 55-48.

Alex Robinson had 17 points to lead Taylor County.

Curtis Bullock had 11 points, while Kobe Haynes chipped in with 10 points for the Hornets.

Taylor County won the junior varsity contest, 45-29. Todd Griffith had 20 points to lead Taylor County.

Read Schumacher and Elliot White had four points each for the Hornets.

Elkins will host Philippi at 6 p.m. Thursday.
