Battlers sweep Concord

ATHENS – Kurklin Bohanon fired in 28 points to lead Alderson-Broaddus past Concord 81-69 Tuesday night in West Virginia Conference play.

The senior also had seven rebounds and five assists for the Battlers, who improved to 14-5 overall and 12-3 in the WVC.

Adam Cline contributed 14 points and five rebounds for A-B, which led 33-32 at halftime.

Mike Boyd had 16 points, Thomas Brown 12, Damien Tunstalle 11 and Jordan Davis 10 for the Mountain Lions, who dropped to 11-8 and 7-8.

A-B will remain on the road Thursday against Ohio Valley for a league contest.

Women’s game

A-B 61, Concord 59

ATHENS – Concord missed a potential game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer as Alderson-Broaddus held on for a 61-59 win Tuesday night in West Virginia Conference action.

Cayla Rhodes led the Lady Battlers (5-14, 4-11 WVC) with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Leah Hurst added 13 points, while Amanda Peoples collected 13 rebounds.

Rachel Artrip led the Lady Mountain Lions, who trailed by 11 at intermission, with 19 points. Jacqueline Kestner chipped in 15 points and 11 rebounds.

A-B will remain on the road Thursday at Ohio Valley for a WVC contest.
