Schoonover signs with Davis & Elkins

Elkins High School standout Jacob Schoonover signed a letter-of-intent Monday to play soccer at Davis & Elkins next season.

“I’m excited to be continuing my soccer career at the next level,” Schoonover said. “Davis & Elkins is an upcoming program and made the NCAA tournament last season and I’m excited to be a part of their program.”

Schoonover, a four-year soccer player at Elkins High School, had 12 goals and seven assists for his senior year.

He was also named first team All Big 10 this past season and was also named to Honorable Mention All-State as well.

“Jacob has been the hardest working player we have had at Elkins Soccer in a long time,” Elkins coach Andy Montgomery said. “He is tireless in his passion to make himself a better soccer play. He comes to the game with a great deal of overall talent but he doesn’t stop there.”

“The game is in his blood and these are attributes that will serve him well as he continues his career at Davis &?Elkins.”

Schoonover plans to major in physical education at Davis & Elkins College and is the son of Todd and Rebecca Schoonover of Elkins.
