Tucker, TV pick up wins

HAMBLETON – Ian Nichols had 16 points and pulled down nine rebounds to lead Class A, No. 3 Tucker County past Pendleton County 66-27 Wednesday in Potomac Valley Conference action.

Logan Snyder followed with 11 points and seven assists, while Nathaniel Goldstein added 10 points for the Mountain Lions, who improved to 13-1.

Evan Arrington had six points to lead Pendleton County.

Pendleton County will entertain Moorefield at 7:30 p.m. today for a PVC matchup, while Tucker County will visit Trinity.

TV 56, South Harrison 40

LOST CREEK – Brett Griffith had 14 points to lead Tygarts Valley past South Harrison 56-40 on Wednesday night.

Adam Cassell followed with 12 points, six assists and four steals, while Brandon Pritt chipped in with 11 points for the Bulldogs (12-3), who led 29-16 at halftime.

Logan Kirby and Luke Gaines had nine points each for the Hawks.

Tygarts Valley will travel to Pocahontas County at 7:30 p.m. today for a PVC contest.

Pocahontas 56, Harman 49

HARMAN – Tyler Davis had 13 points to lead Pocahontas County past Harman 56-49 Wednesday in Potomac Valley Conference action.

Nils Schmidt followed with 11 points for the Warriors (3-9).

Chris Alt finished with 16 points, while Alex Armentrout followed with 14 for the Panthers (3-12), who led 31-21 at halftime before being outscored 16-5 in the third quarter.

Harman will travel to Paw Paw at 7:30 p.m. today for a PVC encounter with the Pirates.
