East Hardy captures pair; MHS wins

FRANKFORT – The East Hardy High?School baseball team swept a pair of games over Frankfort Saturday in non-conference action.

The Cougars (2-0) won the first game 5-4 and swept the nightcap 16-4 in five innings.

Tyler Mongold notched the win for?East Hardy in four innings of work.

He gave up one run on three hits, walked three and struck out three.

Korey Foltz had three hits and scored two runs, while Justin Basye added two hits and drove in two runs in?Game 1.

Basye notched the win in the second game in four innings of work. He gave up four runs on six hits, walked seven and struck out five.

Foltz had four hits and drove in six runs, while Basye had one hit and two RBIs and Brady Hinkle added a three-run triple for the Cougars.

East Hardy will travel to Keyser at 7 p.m. Tuesday.


Moorefield 8,

Frankfort 0

MOOREFIELD – Danica Rogers pitched five scoreless innings to lead Moorefield past Frankfort 8-0 Friday in non-conference action.

She gave up two hits, walked zero and struck out 10.

Beth Cook had two hits and scored two runs to lead the Lady Yellow Jackets (1-0).

Brooklin Gilbert added two hits and a run scored, while Jayme Fraley and Michela Regester added two hits, one run scored for the Lady Yellow Jackets.

Regester also had an RBI for Moorefield.

Moorefield will travel to Keyser at 7 p.m. today for a non-conference matchup.
