George leads Vikings past East Hardy, 10-0

PETERSBURG – Brandon George allowed just two hits over five innings as Petersburg blanked East Hardy 10-0 on Friday.

The game ended in the fifth inning due to the 10-run mercy rule.

George struck out 10 and walked just one.

He helped his cause at the plate with a two-run double that highlighted a five-run outburst in the fourth inning. George finished with three RBIs in the game.

Trevor Harman also went 2-for-3 for the Vikings, while Alex See scored three runs and knocked in a run, Justin Smith added an RBI and Ryan Colaw and Brian George each had RBI fielder’s choices.

Tyler Mongold took the loss for the Cougars.

Petersburg (2-0) will host Berkeley Spring at 1 p.m. today for a Potomac Valley Conference contest.

East Hardy (2-1) will travel to Tygarts Valley on Tuesday.
