Bulldogs knock off Pendleton

FRANKLIN – Ryan Hoffman and Owen Arbogast had two RBIs each to lead Tygarts Valley past Pendleton County 8-6 Tuesday in Potomac Valley Conference action.

Hoffman had a double, while Arbogast had a single for the Bulldogs, who improved to 8-5.

Brandon Pritt also had a triple for Tygarts Valley.

Arbogast notched the win for the Bulldogs in seven innings of work. He gave up six runs on 10 hits, walked one and struck out 13.

Cody Lambert took the loss for the Wildcats in two innings of work.

He gave up six runs and struck out one.

Tim Hevener had three hits, while Jesse Lambert added two hits and an RBI for the Wildcats.

Pendleton County will travel to East Hardy at 7 p.m. today for a Potomac Valley Conference contest.

Tygarts Valley will visit Notre Dame at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

Moorefield 7, Southern (Md.) 1

MOOREFIELD – Adam Williams struck out seven batters to lead Moorefield to a 7-1 win over Southern (Md.) on Tuesday.

Adam Snyder went 4-for-4 with an RBI to lead the Yellow Jackets at the dish. Lance Taylor and Garret Keller added two RBIs each.

Moorefield (13-4) will travel to Tucker County at 7 p.m. today.

Petersburg 13, Washington 10

PETERSBURG – Petersburg pounded out 12 hits en route to a 13-10 win over Washington on Tuesday.

Trevor Harman, Ryan Hedrick and Brandon George each drove in two runs for the Vikings, who trailed 8-2 before scoring seven runs in the fifth and four in the sixth.

Corey Pool earned the win for Petersburg, while Ryan Colaw got the save.

The Vikings (11-3) will travel to Hampshire at 6 p.m. Thursday.
