Tiger tennis teams knock off Indians

BRIDGEPORT – Elkins swept Bridgeport Thursday in Big 10 Conference tennis action.

The EHS boys (10-2, 7-0 Big 10) stayed perfect in Big 10 play with a 5-2 win. Earning victories in singles were Jonathan Gainer at No. 1, along with No. 2 Jacob Schoonover and No. 4 Ryan Henson.

In doubles action, No. 1 Gainer-Schoonover and No. 3 Sean Cain-Tyler Stump garnered wins.

The EHS girls (8-4) claimed a 4-3 victory on the strength of doubles wins at No. 1 from Kelli Carr-Kayla Carr, No. 2 Taylor Epperson-Kayla Gainer and No. 3 Bradley Gutta-Caitlyn Gutta.

Elkins will host Grafton at 4 p.m. today for another Big 10 encounter.
