Moorefield girls knock off Wildcats
FRANKLIN?- Moorefield pounded out 25 hits to roll past Pendleton County 24-0 Thursday in Class A regional semifinal action.
The game ended after the fifth inning due to the mercy rule.
Katelynn Wills knocked in five runs, Beth Cook and Taylor Zuber three each and Danica Rogers, Michaela Regester tallied two RBIs in the winning effort.
Rogers finished with four hits, while Cook had a homer.
Brooklin Gilbert and McKenzie Weese two each for the Yellow Jackets, who led 11-0 after the first inning.
Moorefield added nine runs in the third and four more in the fourth.
Shayna Vetter earned the win, allowing just two hits and striking out five.
Brittany Huffman took the loss for the Wildcats.
Brandi Roberts and Danielle Gray had the lone hits for Pendleton County.
Moorefield will host South Harrison next Thursday in the regional title game.
The Hawks advanced with a 15-7 victory over Tygarts Valley on Thursday night.

LOST?CREEK – South Harrison ended Tygarts Valley’s season with a 15-7 win in Class A regional semifinal play on Thursday.
The Hawks will travel to Moorefield next Thursday in the regional championship game.
