Price was a two-sport star at TV

Editor’s note: The following is the first in a series of profiles of individuals and teams that will inducted into the Randolph County Athletic Hall of Fame in August.

David Price competed in basketball and football at Tygarts Valley High School. He was the second leading scorer on the Bulldog team that advanced to the state basketball tournament in 1987. In his senior season, he earned honorable mention All-State honors.

As a junior in 1985, he played on the TVHS football team that competed in the state playoffs. In 1986, the Bulldogs compiled a 7-3 record with Price named to the All-State second team at the nose guard position.

Price continued his football career at West Virginia Institute of Technology, playing center and nose guard.

In 1989, his WVU Tech team made their first appearance in the NAIA playoffs.
