Tigers to visit Colts
Philip Barbour will look to stay in the Class AA playoff chase with a win over Elkins today at George Byrer Field.
The Colts (4-2) are 15th in this week’s ratings.
After a bye week, Tigers coach Greg Hott’s goal was to have his team rested and ready for action.
“We hoped to use the off week to get healed up, but just the opposite happened,” Hott said. “We got some guys banged up. This is not the first time PB’s been ranked and we’ve had to go down there.
“They are always physical. They have a rough and tough attitude. We know they are going to come at us. But we got a good mind state. We need this game to instill confidence and get this season turned around.”
Last Friday, Dylan Johnson rushed for 149 yards and a pair of scores as Philip Barbour claimed a 28-21 win over Petersburg in front of the Homecoming crowd at George Byrer Field.
Quarterback Tyler Titchnell completed 7 of 11 passes for 63 yards on the night. Al Johnson caught six passes for 57 yards and two touchdowns.
Defensively, Al Johnson racked up 10 tackles, one interception and one fumble recovery. Morgan Stalnaker added eight tackles and a fumble recovery, while Dylan Johnson and Travis Pomp each recorded sacks.
