Indians roll past Tigers; MHS wins
BRIDGEPORT – Anthony Bonamico rushed for 115 yards and scored four touchdowns as Class AA, No. 3 Bridgeport cruised past Elkins 49-0 Friday night in Big 10 Conference play.
Quarterback A.C. Caldera added 136 yards, including a 61-yard touchdown on the game’s first play, for the Indians, who led 42-0 at the intermission.
Dylan Lucas led the Tigers, who were plagued by five turnovers, with 42 yards rushing on 12 totes.
Bridgeport (8-1) will host Preston next Friday to conclude the regular season, while Elkins (0-9) will visit Robert C. Byrd on the same evening.
Pendleton County 30
MOOREFIELD – Class A, No. 5 Moorefield rallied in the fourth quarter to get past Pendleton County, 33-30, Friday night in PVC play.
The Wildcats led 30-17 entering the final period before the Yellow Jackets answered with 16 unanswered points.
Timothy Hevener had 101 yards rushing and also completed 7 of 15 passes for two scores for Pendleton County.
Luke Yokum was 4 of 5 through the air for 29 yards, while Dyllan Wimer had seven catches for 90 yards, and Justice Good 104 yards rushing.
Pendleton County (2-7) will travel to Fishburne (Va.) Military next Saturday.
Moorefield (8-1) will entertain Tygarts Valley next Friday for another PVC contest.
TV game postponed until today
The Tygarts Valley at Hundred game was postponed on Friday night due to electrical issues caused by Thursday night’s poor weather.
The game will be played at 1 p.m. today.
