Tigers finish season with loss at RCB

CLARKSBURG – Elkins ended the season with a 44-28 loss to Class AA, No. 14 Robert C. Byrd Friday night in Big 10 Conference action.

Juwan Jones-Wright had a pair of touchdown runs and Julian Marion threw for two scores as the Eagles opened up a 36-6 halftime lead.

The Tigers then outscored RCB, 22-6, in the second half.

Trevor Kiess had 95 yards rushing and a pair of touchdowns for Elkins, while Ben Lonergan added 83 yards and scored on a 65-yard run in the first quarter that tied the game at 6-6. Dylan Lucas also picked up 54 yards on the ground.

Elkins finished the campaign with an 0-10 mark, while RCB improved to 7-3.

Tygarts Valley 8

MOOREFIELD – Class A, No. 4 Moorefield cruised past Tygarts Valley, 52-8, Friday night in PVC play.

The Yellow Jackets will enter postseason play with a 9-1 mark, while the Bulldogs finished the season with a mark of 1-9.

Pendleton wins by forfeit

FRANKLIN – Due to a conflict with the Virginia playoffs, Fishburne Military Academy had to forfeit its game against Pendleton County that was scheduled for today.

The Wildcats end the season with a 3-7 record.
