D&E swimmers compete in Virginia

RICHMOND, Va. – The Davis & Elkins swim teams took to the pool on Friday and Saturday at the Yellow Jacket Invitational.

Ty Montemoino out touched the competition in the 50 free with a time of 21.59. Sam McDaniels took first in the 100 breaststroke (59.11), second in the 200 breaststroke (2:12.46) and third in the 200 individual medley (1:58.68). Austin Pillado touched second in the 1650 freestyle (16:43.79).

Washington College took home the men’s top spot with a score of 704.

For the D&E?women, Autumn Wunderlich posted a runner-up finish in the 400 individual medley (4:45.95) and fourth in the 1650 free (18:32.61). Brooke Bielecki swam third in the 50 free (24.83) and fifth in the 1000 free (54.80).

The Catholic University of America registered the women’s team title with a score of 685.

D&E will return to the pool Jan. 11 at Frostburg.
