Pendleton bows to Buffalo, 64-60

FRANKLIN – John Hodges and Aaron Lewis both reached double digits in scoring Saturday to power Buffalo over Pendleton County, 64-60.

Although the Wildcats took a narrow loss, coach Ryan Lambert says he is impressed with his team’s effort.

“Buffalo is a team that should get to the state competition at the end of the year,” Lambert said. “We knew it was going to be a true test, coming in. I’m proud of our guys and how they responded. We came out with a quick lead and executed our game plan. Down the stretch, free throws made the difference. It was a good game against a battle tested opponent. I think the experience will help us down the road.”

Evan Arrington scored 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to pace Pendleton County. Hayden Fox also added 10 points and six rebounds.

For the Bisons, Hodges scored 18 points and Lewis added 12 points.

Pendleton County (3-2) will next play at 6 p.m. Friday in the Petersburg Holiday Tournament against Moorefield.
