D&E, Wesleyan, AB women take road setbacks

OWENSBORO, Ky. – Kentucky Wesleyan used a balanced scoring attack to race past Davis & Elkins, 112-75, Thursday night in G-MAC play.

Karly Rhoads fired in 32 points to lead the Panthers, followed by Jade Mills-Harris (15), Kourtney Rhoads and Erin Dorn (13) and Shelby Tyra (10).

Ashley Bowles led the Senators with 17 points. Sharmaine Baker tallied 13 and Jorden Lykes 11.

The Senators scored the first 10 points of the game before Kentucky Wesleyan stormed back to lead 55-29 at the intermission.

D&E will continue its road trip at 3 p.m. Saturday against G-MAC foe Trevecca Nazarene.

Notre Dame College 77

SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – Notre Dame (Ohio) erased a 12-point halftime deficit to claim a 77-73 decision over Wesleyan Thursday in Mountain East Conference play.

Martha Nagbe had 18 points, Courtney Clark 17, and Molly Ritz and Kelsey Miller 13 each for the Falcons (8-2, 5-1 MEC).

Kacey Johnson paced the Bobcats (2-9, 0-7) with 24 points. Allie Brown chipped in with 14 and Brittany Williams 13.

Wesleyan will return home at 2 p.m. Saturday to face West Liberty.

Trevecca Nazarene 75

Alderson Broaddus 45

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Alderson Broaddus had a cold night shooting from the field and committed 25 turnovers in a 75-45 setback to ?G-MAC foe Trevecca Nazarene on Thursday night.

The Battlers (1-11, 1-3 G-MAC) connected on just 34.7 percent of their field goals.

Sydney Shaffer was the lone player in double figures for AB?with 10 points. Natalie Smith added four assists and eight points.

Anna Mitchell topped the Trojans with 21 points. Haley Felker added 12 and Christina Curtner 11.

The Battlers will visit Kentucky Wesleyan at 2 p.m. Saturday.
