TVHS girls fall at Moorefield

MOOREFIELD – Beth Cook poured in 16 points as Moorefield claimed a 55-47 win over PVC foe Tygarts Valley on Thursday night.

Tara George chipped in with 14 points for the Yellow Jackets, who led 23-14 at the intermission before being outscored 15-2 in the third quarter by the Bulldogs.

“We got off to a slow start and it hurt us,” Tygarts Valley coach Mike DiPasquale said. “We can’t have quarters where we score in single digits. You’re not going to win many games by doing that.”

Paige Pritt fired in 23 points and Emily Pingley added 15 for the Bulldogs.

Tygarts Valley (6-3) will return to action at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Highland County, Va.

Moorefield (4-6) is slated to host Pocahontas County on the same day.
