Colston helps Battlers take easy victory

PHILIPPI – Devin Colston tossed in a season-high 19 points to lead Alderson Broaddus to a convincing 88-56 win over Trevecca Nazarene Thursday night in G-MAC play at Rex Pyles Arena.

Colston knocked down five treys, all of which came in the first half, and recorded a pair of steals for the Battlers, who improved to 18-5 overall and 10-1 in the G-MAC.

Senior Adam Kline and Colston led the AB charge in the opening period with a combined 27 first-half points. The hosts connected on eight shots from long distance in the first half.

Kline finished with 16 points and 12 boards.

Aaron Turner had 12 and Jordan Bedwell 11 for the Trojans, who will visit Davis &?Elkins Saturday.

The Battlers will host league-leader Kentucky Wesleyan at 4 p.m. Saturday for a key conference matchup. The first 300 AB students in attendance, with valid student ID, will receive a free Battler camouflage t-shirt.
