D&E Lykes selected to G-MAC first team
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Davis & Elkins senior Jorden Lykes was selected to the G-MAC first team by the league’s coaches.
Lykes averaged 14.4 points and 7.8 rebounds overall, but, against conference competition, she posted 17.6 points and 9.2 rebounds per game-both of which were tops in the league. The Prince George, Va., native posted eight double-doubles, including a career-high 31 point, 15 rebound effort against Kentucky Wesleyan. Lykes ripped down a career-best 21 rebounds against Trevecca Nazarene and led the Senators to their first upset of a top-25 team with a 17 point, 10 rebound showing at No. 22 Edinboro.
Redshirt freshman Stephanie Wooten garnered second team all-conference honors. The Lincolnton, N.C., native ranked fifth in assists (3.8) and tenth in points (12.6) per game in the G-MAC.
Lykes, Wooten and the Senators will face Ursuline in the G-MAC quarterfinals at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Nashville, Tenn.
