D&E softball team sweeps WVU Tech
MONTGOMERY – The Davis & Elkins softball team pushed its win streak to a season-best four games with a sweep of NAIA foe West Virginia Tech on Thursday. The Senators took the opener, 9-1, and claimed a 7-1 decision in game two.
Chelsie Stover belted a three-run homer in the third and Katelyn Norton added a solo shot in the opener for D&E.
Alana Jones (5-5) surrendered one run on two hits with five strikeouts during five innings in the
Norton’s grand slam in the nightcap sparked the Senators to the sweep.
Amber LaBille (3-8) worked the complete game, allowing one run on six hits with four strikeouts.
D&E will visit G-MAC foe Alderson Broaddus at 2:30 p.m. Monday for a doubleheader.
