AB’s Kline earns All-American honors
PHILIPPI? – Alderson Broaddus’ Adam Kline has been listed as honorable mention selection choice on the Division II All-American team.
Kline, the lone senior on this year’s Battler basketball team, averaged a double-double with 14.4 points and 10.9 rebounds.
The honor is the latest for the Winfield native, as he was the G-MAC’s Player of the Year and was named the league’s Player of the Week four times during the 2013-14 season.
He also was the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference D-II Player of the Week one time this winter.
His 16 double-doubles led the G-MAC and ranked sixth in D-II. He also paced the conference with 284 rebounds, and field goal percentage with a .675. Nationally he ranked sixth in field goal percentage, 10th in rebounds per game and 11th in total rebounds.
Kline also dished out 58 assists and led the team with 43 blocks.
“Adam had an tremendous season,” AB coach Greg Zimmerman said. “He is very deserving for every honor he has received.
“As the only senior on our team, he led this team with his on the court play and off the court leadership. He will be a tough player to replace. I feel very honored to have coached him.”
