Pendleton takes DH at Paw Paw

PAW?PAW – Pendleton County swept a pair of games from Paw Paw Saturday in PVC play.

The Wildcats took the opener, 12-0 in six innings, and concluded the day with a 13-1 victory in five innings in the second game.

Luke Yokum allowed just three hits to earn the win in the opener.

Tim Hevener went 2 for 4 at the plate with a triple, double and three RBIs, while Jesse Lambert added an RBI triple and Evan Arrington a pair of singles.

Michael Crabtree took the loss for the Pirates, allowing 12 run on 11 hits and fanning three.

Logan Cooper went four innings in the second game, allowing four hits.

At the plate, Cody Lambert went 3 for 3 with two runs scored, Yokum 2 for 4 with three RBIs and two runs scored and Callum McGrath tallied an RBI double.

Josh Newlon was the losing pitcher, allowing eight runs on six hits in 4 1/3 innings.

Devin Abe had a pair of singles for Paw Paw.

Pendleton County (13-5, 7-1?PVC) will visit Tygarts Valley at 4:30 p.m. today.

Pendleton 7, Grafton 6

FRANKLIN – Pendleton County rallied for four runs in the seventh inning to claim a 7-6 win over Grafton on Saturday.

Brooke Arbogast knocked in three runs for the Wildcats, while Hillary Ord added a pair of RBIs.

Brittany Huffman went all seven innings to earn the win, allowing six runs on five hits, striking out nine and walking seven.

Brittany Carcavage went 2 for 2 with an RBI for the Bearcats.

Jasmine Grossman took the loss.
