Bobcats fall in regional finals
WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Kim Murl scattered five hits over seven innings to lead West Chester to a 3-1 win over West Virginia Wesleyan in the deciding game of the Atlantic Super Regionals on Sunday.
The Golden Rams (41-20) advance to the NCAA Division II tournament for the first time in school history.
The Bobcats led 1-0 before West Chester plated a single run in the second inning and two more in the third.
Jacqui Omichinski took the loss for Wesleyan in two-plus innings of action. Jessica Griffin finished in relief.
The Golden Rams will face Armstrong Atlantic State at noon Thursday in Salem, Va.
The Bobcats end the season with a record of 45-16.
