Henderson to transfer

MORGANTOWN – West Virginia University basketball coach Bob Huggins announced Friday that Terry Henderson is transfering.

The rising junior guard becomes the second Mountaineer cager to transfer since season’s end, as Eron Harris announced earlier this spring he was leaving to be closer to his family in Indianapolis.

Henderson, a native of Raleigh, N.C., averaged 11.7 points per game this past season, playing in 28 games.

“We have enjoyed Terry and his contributions to Mountaineer basketball,” Huggins said.

“We wish him the best in his future endeavors.”

With the loss of Henderson and Harris, Juwan Staten will be the lone returning double-digit scorer for WVU next season.

Devin Williams, Brandon Watkins, Nathan Adrian, Gary Browne, Remi Dibo and Kevin Noreen are others expected to return after seeing quality minutes during the 2013-14 campaign.
