Senators stay alive in G-MAC tourney; AB suffers first loss

MASON, Ohio – Davis & Elkins used a four-run sixth inning to stay alive in the G-MAC tournament with a 7-3 win over Kentucky Wesleyan on Thursday.

The Senators trailed 3-2 before lacing five straight singles to start the sixth inning en route to plating six runs. Marcus Warner, Bryant Hines and Houston Darling had RBIs in the frame,

Travis Phelps added a solo homer in the seventh.

Michael Paratore (5-4) went the distance to earn the win, allowing three runs on nine hits with five strikeouts and two walks.

D&E will face Cedarville at 9 a.m. today with the winner advancing to face Alderson Broaddus 30 minutes after the contest.

Trevecca Nazarene 6, AB 5, 10 innings

CINCINNATI – Alderson Broaddus dropped a 6-5 decision in 10 innings to top-seed Trevecca Nazarene Thursday night in G-MAC tournament action.

The Battlers trailed 5-4 before rallying to tie the game in the ninth on Daniel Essan’s RBI?single.

The Trojans took the lead for good in the top of the 10th on Hunter Newman’s solo homer.

Brandon Quay went 4 for 5 to lead AB at the plate.

The Battlers will face either Davis &?Elkins or Cedarville today in an elimination game.

Trevecca Nazarene advances to the title game at noon on Saturday.
