Area players on Big 10 team

FAIRMONT – Elkins High School’s Isaac Riggleman was recently named the Big 10 Conference’s Pitcher of the Year.

Riggleman, who has signed to play at Davis &?Elkins College, is currently suiting up for American Legion Post 29.

“Isaac was a reliable member of our pitching staff during his career,” EHS coach Adam Roth said. “He’s a great competitor and a hard worker.”

Riggleman was joined on the All-Conference first team by teammate Colby Gainer, Philip Barbour’s Al Johnson, Buckhannon-Upshur’s Bryson Fluke, Fairmont Senior’s Bailey Mohr, Austin Norman and Johnny Kesling, Bridgeport’s Sammy Aloi, Tyler Skidmore, Joe LaRocca and Anthony Bonamico, North Marion’s Keegun McCullough, East Fairmont’s Jacob Bolander, Robert C. Byrd’s Colton Bonnett, Preston’s Jimmy Galusky, Levi Nolan and Kyle Cool and Grafton’s Cole Collins.

Galusky was named the league’s Player of the Year, while Bridgeport’s Robert Shields was Coach of the Year after leading the Indians to the Class AA state title.
