PBHS boys tie Pocahontas

DUNMORE – Philip Barbour scored three goals with 5-minutes to go to tie Pocahontas County, 3-3, in boys varsity

“My team played flat and didn’t control the ball as well as we should have,” PB coach Ron Jones said. “It possibly hurt us that we still have three players ineligible. Those guys played in the preseason scrimmages and we seemed to have a much better passing to shots-on-goal flow. Our freshmen got a lot of playing time, which will help in the long run. Our sophomore keeper, Chris Anglin, has skills far above his grade, but needs games like tonight to season him.”

The Colts netted two goals by Nick Triplett and one goal from Travis Booth in the final 5 minutes of the contest to take a 3-2 lead. However, the Warriors nailed a penalty kick to tie the contest.

The Colts (0-0-1) will travel to South Harrison Thursday for a 7 p.m.
