Dolly signs to play for West Virginia Wesleyan
PETERSBURG – A former Petersburg High School football standout signed a letter of intent Wednesday to play football for West Virginia Wesleyan College.
Nick Dolly will be making the move to Buckhannon to become part of the Bobcat football team and continue his football career.
Dolly said the new coaching staff at Wesleyan was a major factor in his decision to join Wesleyan.
“I just felt comfortable there,” Dolly said.
In his junior season, Dolly was named to the All-Area Second Team as part of the offensive line and also received honorable mention recognition as a defensive player.
During Dolly’s senior season at Petersburg, he earned Second Team All-State honors as part of the offensive line. Dolly also received all Potomac Valley Conference honors while at Petersburg.
Head coach Kevin Board believes Dolly will be an asset to the Wesleyan football program.
“He has a fantastic work ethic and a great attitude,” Board said. “Nick goes above and beyond in everything that he does and he’s very intelligent.”
The Vikings finished their 2015 season with a 6-4 record.
Board said Dolly was the team’s second-leading tackler and one of the team’s leaders.
“He was a great example for the younger guys,” Board said.
Dolly plans to major in business at Wesleyan.
