Tygarts Valley High School volleyball team downs Richwood, Notre Dame
MILL CREEK — The Tygarts Valley High School volleyball squad got back on the winning side of things Tuesday by defeating both Richwood and Notre Dame during a tri-match at TVHS.
“The team really needed these wins,” TVHS coach Kenny Pingley said. “They played tough tonight.”
The wins move the Lady Bulldogs to 3-6 on the year. They are unbeaten at home so far this season.
Tygarts Valley kicked off the meet by defeating Richwood in straight sets, 25-22 and 25-22.
Against Richwood, the Lady Bulldogs’ Leah Arbogast had 12 kills, 3 assists and an ace. Jasmine Gum added 3 kills and 3 assists, while Alexa Cunningham had 2 kills and 3 aces.
In the next contest, Notre Dame beat Richwood in straight sets. After that action, TVHS defeated Notre Dame 25-12 and 25-16.
Against Notre Dame, Alyssa Anderson had 4 kills and 5 aces, while Arbogast had 2 kills and 8 aces/
“Arbogast is one of my two seniors and a team captain,” Pingley said. “She played a very good game tonight. She really led us. She’s a very powerful server.”
The Lady Bulldogs will return to action at 6 p.m. Thursday, going on the road to play Webster County.
