EHS boys game halted by weather

WESTON — Elkins High School did not get to finish the Class AA/A sectional title game at Lewis County on Thursday because of weather delays.

The game was still scoreless when the match was called in the first half.

There were 12 minutes and 26 seconds left on the game clock before halftime, and that’s the time that will be placed on the scoreboard when EHS is slated to resume play at Lewis County on Saturday.

The starting time for Saturday’s contest is still being worked out. Ironically, the regular season scheduled game between the two Big 10 Conference rivals also ended with an incomplete result due to weather.

Elkins and Lewis County are very familiar foes, with a history dating back long before both moved to Class AA this season.

Elkins High School dropped Philip Barbour during a Class AA/A semi-final on Tuesday to move on to the sectional title game.
