Tygarts Valley Bulldogs win on Senior Night
MILL CREEK — Caleb Riggleman and Zac McCauley both reached double digits in scoring Monday, as Tygarts Valley earned a 72-43 victory over Clay-Battelle on Senior Night.
“The kids came out focused and played hard,” TVHS coach Tom Wamsley said. “They really enjoyed themselves. It was a nice Senior Night. It was a nice way to send off our four seniors.”
The Bulldogs lit the net for 28 points in the first quarter and carried a 38-24 lead into the locker room at the intermission.
TVHS came back out strong after halftime, putting in 22 points in the third quarter and adding 12 more in the fourth to close out the victory.
Riggleman was the game’s top scorer with 25 points, while McCauley added 17 points of his own. Devin Ball chipped in 6 points, while Austin Lanham finished with 5 points.
Prior to the game, senior players Riggleman and McCauley, along with Garrett Swecker and Rece Wamsley, were recognized during Senior Night activities. Cheerleaders and parents were also recognized during the ceremony.
Seth Casino and Gunner Brummage were the leading scorers for the Cee Bees with 10 points each.
TVHS (8-13) is set to return to action on Wednesday when the team travels to Notre Dame. Junior varsity action is set for 5:45 p.m. and the varsity contest tips off at 7:30 p.m.
