Wooten sets D&E scoring record
ELKINS — Stephanie Wooten became the all-time leading scorer in Davis & Elkins Women’s Basketball history on Saturday as the Senators fell to Ursuline College 89-73.
Wooten passed Cindy Stinger (1,702) with her eighth point of the game on a 3-pointer in the first quarter to take over the record. Wooten would go on to finish with 23 points, sitting at 1,718 career points, which is also a Great Midwest Athletic Conference record.

Davis & Elkins would grab the lead back in the third quarter before Ursuline took a three point-lead into the final 10 minutes. The Senators then cut the deficit early in the fourth, but the league leaders used a 31-18 fourth quarter to pull away late.
