MILL CREEK — Caleb Riggleman drove in 3 runs Wednesday, as the Tygarts Valley Bulldogs cruised past Philip Barbour, 13-1, in non-conference baseball action.

“We played pretty well,” TVHS coach James Markley said. “We had a rough first inning, starting out, but we settled down.

“Logan George did a good job for his first time out, he’s a freshman. He was pretty impressive. He worked ahead in the count and did real well,” Markley said.

“Once we got warmed up a little bit, we actually scored some runners and had some hits with runners in scoring position, which was pretty nice.”

George earned the victory on the hill for the Bulldogs. He struck out 4 batters in 5 innings of work.

Riggleman set the pace for the Bulldogs at the plate with 3 RBIs. Marcus Reynolds collected 2 hits, while Rece Wamsley and Hunter Lanham drove in 2 RBIs each.

Noah Price and Chase Collier both collected hits for Philip Barbour.

The Colts went up 1-0 in the top of the first inning, but the Bulldogs tied the game in the bottom half of the stanza. Both teams battled even until TVHS exploded for 12 runs in the fourth inning.

TVHS (1-2) is set to host Tucker County today at 6 p.m.

The Colts (0-4) are set to travel to Fairmont Senior today for a 5 p.m. contest
