MORGANTOWN — Paul Koontz Motorsports hosted its awards banquet for the 2016 Big East XC Series recently at Lakeview Resort and Conference Center in Morgantown.

The Big East XC Series is a regional off-road ATV/dirtbike racing series with races taking place throughout different areas of West Virginia and Maryland.

Many riders from around the region attended the Feb. 25 banquet.

The attendees were treated to a buffet-style dinner and had the chance to buy raffle tickets in hopes to win numerous sets of riding apparel and accessories.

Each rider accepting an award was given the opportunity to speak and thank their sponsors or anyone else who supported them.

The upcoming 2017 series has a slight name change, but fans can expect the same intensity and challenges as every race before.

The 2017 Full Throttle XC Series will get underway on March 18 at Swamp Run Raceway in Masontown.

Gates will open at 7:30 a.m. and rider registration will begin at 8 a.m.

Racing is set to start at 9 a.m. with the Youth ATV Minis.
