Wildcats drop doubleheader
MARTINSBURG — The Pendleton County Wildcats traveled to Spring Mills over the weekend and dropped both ends of a doubleheader in boys varsity baseball.
Spring Mills won the first game, 4-3, and took the second contest, 6-1.
” I was pleased with our effort,” PCHS coach Sam Yokum said. “(Spring Mills) is sitting on 13 seniors. They have a nice program and beautiful facilities. It was a nice day. It was just a shame. We should have split with them, but we didn’t. Both games were really close. That’s why we play those schools. They make us work.”
In the first game, Cash Frazier pitched 1/3 of an inning in relief and earned the victory for SMHS. A.J. Moore started the game and went 4 innings, giving up 4 hits and 3 walks.

Trey Cooper paced the Wildcats at the plate, going 2 for 2 with 2 runs scored. Luke Cooper went 1 for 3 with a triple and an RBI, while Thomas Davis went 2 for 3 with a double.
