ELKINS — Ben Huffman tossed a complete game Monday, as the Elkins Tigers downed Big 10 Conference opponent North Marion, 11-1, in five innings.

“Defensively, we’re continuing to play strong,” EHS coach Jack Crumm said. “Ben (Huffman) pitched really well. He didn’t give up any walks. We played really good defense behind him.

“Hitting-wise, Matt Wilson came up big for us tonight with 5 RBIs. Most of the guys helped us out at the plate. They had good approaches and took the pitcher deep into some counts. They did some good hitting. I was very pleased with the approaches they took at the plate.”

Huffman earned the victory on the hill, giving up 1 run on 4 hits while striking out 4 batters.

Adam Hamilton took the loss for the Huskies. In 2 innings of work, he gave up 4 runs on 4 hits.
