PHILIPPI — Read Schumacher mowed down 8 batters Thursday, as Class AA No. 4 ranked Elkins cruised past Philip Barbour, 9-0, in Big 10 Conference action.

It’s nice to get back on the winning edge, after last night. The kids are on spring break and they’re playing every day. As we go through the week, it gets tough. We had a little bit of a let-down yesterday, but they refocused and I think we’ll finish out the week strong.”
