ELKINS — After excelling at Elkins High School, senior Brooke Pomp looks forward to continuing her soccer career at Alderson Broaddus University.

Pomp signed a letter of intent Thursday to play for the Battlers. She noted she looks forward to becoming a part of the Battler’s team because they have good chemistry on and off the field.

“The coaches are great and I really like all of the girls,” Pomp said.

Scott Cutright, Elkins High School women’s head soccer coach, said, “Brooke will have a strong, physical presence on the field, and it will be very easy for her to transition.”

In addition to the soccer program, Pomp said she wants to become part of the AB community because it is a small, close-knit campus and is nearby home.

Pomp earned Class AA All-State Honorable Mention honors during her sophomore year and Big 10 All-Conference honors during her junior year as center midfielder on the field.

Cutright added that Pomp was a significant contributor to the team’s conference title during her senior season.

In addition to high school soccer, Pomp was also a member of the Fury Soccer Club in Morgantown for six years. As part of the Fury Soccer Club, Pomp was a member of squads who earned state titles in 2014 and 2017.

The student-athlete plans to major in exercise science and athletic training at AB University.

Pomp extended her gratitude to her former teammates and coaches, as well as her family, for their support throughout her career.

The athlete was also a member of the Elkins High School basketball team.
