Tigers to offer chicken BBQ

ELKINS — To help with the Elkins High School baseball field improvement projects, the Tigers will be selling chicken barbecue meals at the Cruise-in Car Show on Saturday.

Meals will cost $8 and will be available at the Elkins Wal-Mart parking lot beginning at 11 a.m.

“We’ve worked really hard over the past several years with several other fundraisers,” EHS baseball coach Jack Crumm said. “The community has been very good to support us. All of their donations have really helped out.

“We’re getting close to being able to finish the facilities project. We’re about $10,000 away from having the entire thing completely done. That’s our goal. Once we can get that $10,000, we should be able to get the batting cages up and have the facility improvement project finished.

“We’re looking forward to having a grand opening celebration, hopefully at the beginning of next year,” Crumm said.

The meal will consist of a barbecued half-chicken, beans, chips, roll, desert and a drink.

For more information, contact Elkins High School Baseball Facilities Improvement Project chair Lisa Severino at 304-614-3454 or Crumm at 304-641-4662.
