EHS volleyball team drops match

ELKINS — The Elkins High School volleyball squad dropped a match to Robert C. Byrd at home Tuesday.

The Lady Tigers lost in straight sets, 5-25, 4-25 and 13-25.

“RCB is a very good team,” EHS coach Penny Crawford said. “We got a lesson on how to play volleyball tonight. And I hope we learned from that.”

Jaide Elbon had 3 solo blocks and 2 kills, while Ally Hammond racked up 2 solo blocks and 3 kills and Samantha “Sam” Price notched 2 solo kills.

The Lady Tigers (5-3, and 5-2 in conference play) take to the road today to take on Grafton.

In junior varsity action, the EHS junior varsity squad also fell to RCB, 10-25 and 16-25.

The Elkins JV team is also now 5-3 on the season.
