Lady Tigers move to 3-2

SHINNSTON — The Elkins High School volleyball team defeated Lincoln on the road Thursday evening to improve to 3-2 on the season.

Elkins won the first set 25-18, lost the second 15-25 and then took the last two, 25-23 and 25-18.

“This was a good conference win,” EHS coach Penny Crawford said. “The second game was frustrating, but during the third and fourth games our girls got the job done.”

Jaide Elbon posted 8 kills, 7 solo blocks and 5 ace serves on the night, with Ally Hammond racking up 13 kills, 5 solo blocks and 5 ace serves.

Samantha “Sam” Price had 9 kills on the evening. Alisha Arbogast had 20 set assists and Jalyssa Reams contributed 11 set assists.

“We had an illness tonight, and Jalyssa stepped up for us,” Crawford said. “Tonight the team realized what they had to do and they did it.”

The Lady Tigers junior varsity team also won, downing Lincoln in straight sets, 25-11 and 25-11.

The Elkins JV team is now 3-2 for the year
