D&E cross country squads finish well

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Davis & Elkins College women’s cross country team earned a sixth-place finish in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championships Saturday at Percy Warner Park.

The Senators were paced by Danielle Haynes, who finished 24th overall with a time of 23.16.5.

Reba Cutright followed up Haynes with a time of 24.28.1, which was good enough for 48th place.

Freshman Lavania Lemasters earned a third-place finish for the Senators with a 52nd, finishing with a time of 24.45.9.

Kirsten Gateless (69th, 25.23.6) and Madeline Brown (81st, 25.55.1) rounded out the top five for D&E.

The Senators will return to action on November 4, when they travel to Cedarville for the NCAA Midwest Regional.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Davis & Elkins College men’s cross country team also earned a sixth-place finish in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championships Saturday at Percy Warner Park.

R.J. Weiford led the way for the Senators, finishing in 23rd place with a time of 26.30.6.

Shane Ickes finished a season high second among Senators with a 28th place finish overall. Ickes finished with a time of 26.43.1.

Freshman Matthew Chapman earned a third-place finish for the Senators with a 39th overall, finishing with a time of 27.04.5.

David Magda (66th, 27.44.7) and Aidan Konhaus (76th, 28.27.5) rounded out the top five for D&E.

The Senators will return to action on Nov. 4, when they travel to Cedarville for the NCAA Midwest Regional
